Ready to take control of your life?

Meet Margot Nevin, LISW-S

Your life can get better.

Hi, I’m Margot!  I help busy adult individuals and couples in Marion and throughout Ohio gain new tools and perspectives so they can feel in control of their life. I believe that every person has the ability to change the course of their life with the right support, and I would love to help you with that!

I get it. You feel like you have been trying everything you can think of to make things better. But it’s just not working…

Friends and family are well-intentioned with their advice, but you don’t think they fully understand.

That’s where I come in! I specialize in helping adults who feel paralyzed by anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues to move forward. I can help you to take back control of your life and feel happy again.

Clients who work with me say I have a warm, laid-back approach to therapy. It should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation! I work great with adults who are willing to take steps to improve their lives through new tools and perspectives discovered in our sessions together.

How I Can Help

I have training in several evidence-based practices such as EMDR, solutions-focused therapy, skills of Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also provide Christian-based counseling upon request. I use these techniques to help you gain control of your life and ultimately feel better. More importantly, I will always try to understand where you are coming from and meet you where you are.

I provide a calm, non-judgmental environment to look at your problems so you feel comfortable making changes. I know what it’s like to feel stuck about what steps you need to take to feel happy… I can be that therapist that helps guide you into the life you want.

How I Work

Method 1:
EMDR Therapy

I use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, and self-esteem issues.

Method 2:
CBT and skills of DBT

I use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients learn how to control the emotions and thoughts that are effecting their life.

Method 3:
Solutions-Focused Therapy

I use solution-focused therapy to help clients dive deeper into figuring out tangible ways to solve their problems rather than getting stuck in the issue.

What does it mean to empower change?

I named my practice Empowering Changes Counseling because I believe my work with others is to empower them to make the changes they want in their life. I am there to help you heal, learn new skills, and have new insights to make your life better.

But in the end, I don’t want you to think you have to depend on me for your life to improve. I want you to see that you can use the tools and ideas learned in therapy to become the person or couple you have always imagined. I am just here as a guide in your journey!

You deserve to feel happy. Let me help!
